Grovetown is home to Columbia County's newest high school. It opened in the fall of 2009 and provides students with state-of-the-art equipment and study facilities.
The newest WalMart in the area has opened at the new Gateway Shopping Center. It is a 'Super Center' located at I-20 and Lewiston Rd. and offers the shopping convenience expected in a growing part of Columbia County. The Shopping Center is expanding with additional restaurants, furniture store, gas station and hair salon.
Harlem is revitalizing the downtown area including remodeling the downtown theater. There's a new IGA with fresh deli and eat-in area.
